| Bose On-Ear Headphones |
| Review:C|Net |
Sun 18th May 2008 |
| With a potent blend of quality products and what seems like an almost ubiquitous marketing campaign, Bose had managed to persuade thousands of people to spend large sums of money on the company's QuietComfort 3 and QuietComfort 2 noise-canceling headphones. While those models are mainstays in the business-class section of any aircraft, not everyone can afford business class--or wants to pay upward of $300 for a pair of headphones. So, Bose has come up with a model simply called the On-Ear, which borrows many of the design elements of the QuietComfort 3 but leaves out the active noise canceling and retails for a more palatable $180.

| Pidgin 2.4.2 |
| Majorgeeks |
Sun 18th May 2008 |
| Pidgin (formerly Gaim) is a multi-protocol instant messaging (IM) client for Linux, BSD, MacOS X, and Windows. It is compatible with AIM and ICQ (Oscar protocol), MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, SILC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, and Zephyr networks. Gaim users can log in to multiple accounts on multiple IM networks simultaneously. This means that you can be chatting with friends on AOL Instant Messenger, talking to a friend on Yahoo Messenger, and sitting in an IRC channel all at the same time. Pidgin supports many features of the various networks, such as file transfer, away messages, and typing notification. It also goes beyond that and provides many unique features. A few popular features are Buddy Pounces, which give the ability to notify you, send a message, play a sound, or run a program when a specific buddy goes away, signs online, or returns from idle; and plugins, consisting of text replacement, a buddy ticker, extended message notification, iconify on away, spell checking, tabbed conversations, and more. Pidgin runs on a number of platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Qtopia (Sharp Zaurus and iPaq).

| Aliph Jawbone 2 |
| Source:C|Net |
Sun 18th May 2008 |
| When Aliph released the first Jawbone Bluetooth headset two years ago, it became CNET's highest rated Bluetooth headset because of its amazing sound quality and eye-catching design. Many of our readers agreed with our assessment, but there were two big complaints against it: it is bulkier than most headsets out there, and it has an unusual ear hook that made the Jawbone difficult to position correctly. Well, Aliph has listened, because the new Aliph Jawbone 2 has laid those negatives to rest.

| TomTom ONE XL S GPS Review |
| Source:Digital Trends |
Sat 17th May 2008 |
| "The TomTom XL S is the company's midrange GPS unit, and offers the same core functionality as the more expensive models while offering a few less features and a reduced price. It includes maps of the US and Canada, includes text-to-speech functionality for reading street names aloud, and offers a large database of Points of Interest as well. Though its functionality is primarily limited to driving directions (no music playing capability, for example), it's a highly capable and intuitive device that will serve most motorists quite well."

| "Previously we have already reviewed a number of GeForce 9600 GT graphics cards, and the one we are taking a look at today, is a BFG GeForce 9600 GT OC card with 512MB GDDR3 RAM, that has been overclocked by the manufacturer. The GeForce 9600 GT is a PCI Express 2.0 graphics card, supporting DirectX 10, but it is of course possible to use in PCI Express 1.0 slots, which most people have today."

| On Friday the Mozilla Foundation released the first Release Candidate (RC1) for Firefox 3. Unlike some corporations (who won't be named, but their initials are MS), they actually beat their estimated release date for RC1. As late as last week, when announcing that RC1 was "code complete," Mozilla indicated that the public release was aimed for late May.

| HTC Audio Jack to 3.5mm Plug Adapter |
| Review:DragonsteelMods |
Sat 17th May 2008 |
| We've got lots of phone accessories for review, and I've tried to find ones that are truly useful and not just gimmicky 'stuff' to use a few times and then be left in a drawer somewhere. There is a popular trend lately with cellphones, they don't have a standard audio jack on them but instead use a mini-USB connection, why this is I'm not quite sure as they're aren't many headphones that have a USB connection. The majority of good quality headphones use a standard 3.5mm jack but unless you get an adapter you can't use them with your cellphone. There needs to be some sort of standard when it comes to these things, why do companies insist on making life more difficult for the end user?

| Vantec NexStar eSata/USB Hard Drive Dock Review |
| Review:Futurelooks |
Sat 17th May 2008 |
| Back in April, I reviewed Thermaltake?s BlacX USB Hard Drive dock and heralded it as a step in the right direction, away from those boring hard drive enclosures out there. Although it was a cool concept, it lacked in the performance department due in part to the omission of something faster than your standard USB port. Vantec has come along with a new product called the NexStar eSata/USB Hard Drive Dock which sports not only lowly USB, but kicks up the performance with an eSATA port.

| Western Digital Raptor 150 Gb 10K SATA Hard Drive |
| Review:Techware Labs |
Sat 17th May 2008 |
| Hard drives are one of the major factors that limit the performance of your
system. Even if you have a great CPU to process the information and a lot of fast RAM to store the information, that information first has to be retrieved from the hard drive before it goes anywhere else. This is where the Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM 150 GB Hard Drive comes in. This is one of the top of the line hard drives available from Western digital. This particular hard drive is special because unlike the traditional 7200 RPM hard drives, this one spins at 10,000 RPM which leads to significantly smaller seek times thus producing huge performance gains.
